FLAGSHIP SUV DESIGN

" Hyundai Palisade's exterior and interior design clearly reflects its unique flagship identity with a first-rate, distinctive and bold way of presence, "said SangYup Lee, head of Hyundai's Design Center. "As a leader in Palisade design, it was a pleasure to work with our global design team throughout the development and finally present this phenomenal product before you today."

Palisade's styling gives dignity in style in a discreet theme that demonstrates clear differentiation worthy of a flagship SUV. From the front, a dominant, bold and wide cascading grid clearly represents a premium SUV. Separate composite lights and a vertically connected front illumination signature create a strong and distinctive front décor, with available LED front lights, LED daylight and LED turntable. A powerful expanded hood profile creates an impressive road presence, while bold C-posts and panoramic glass-side technology convey generous third row space. Full volume over-fenders and body sites offer muscle detailing. The back emphasizes a wide and stable attitude through a slim detailing and a vertical tail light backlight design. Panoramic rear glass combined with a sloping roof provides a generous sense of space for passengers. Available oversized 20-inch alloy wheels fill out the Palisade flagship presence.

This design also has aerodynamic advantages, with a 0.33 drag coefficient (Cd). Palisade achieves this low drag coefficient with specific design signals including a fast A-post angle, a rear spoiler side gauge, an optimized cooling area with an extended internal air control, aero underside panels and rear aero deflectors.

INTUITIVE UTILITY

The interior combines a sense of relaxation and comfort that creates a quiet environment with eight-passenger seating standard for family adventures. Leather-fitted models offer a premium, quilted Nappa leather, while on the dashboard, even woodgrain trim in an interior interior design provides a spacious and comfortable atmosphere. One-Touch second row allows for easy-to-ride seat forward and out of the way for easy access to and out of the third row. To make it easier, the third row offers force folding / unfolding and seat reset. The second-row captain's chairs are also available with ventilated seat surfaces. Each Palisade seating station offers USB outlets for the convenience of all passengers, for a total of seven available USB outlets. Even more, a call-level driver clearly shows passengers on the backside.

Palisade also offers a class-exclusive Blind View Monitor that complements standard Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist, which provides easy-to-see body-side views when the response signal is enabled. The sound and navigation screen is a generous 10.25 inch touch screen in widescreen format, combined with a 12.3-inch full-digital TFT center cluster that offers different display modes and different driving mode lighting. Two Bluetooth® devices can be connected simultaneously, one for one mobile phone connection and the other for audio streaming. The simple IP gauge cluster integrated with navigation provides outstanding readability and ease of use, combined with a free recording feature. The innovations on the center console, such as wire management, free up valuable control space for the features that drivers use the most. The Shift-by-wire system also includes auto park logic that switches the vehicle into park when the engine is switched off and the driver opens the door. Palisad Center Console Bridge Design also releases convenient storage under the center console area with convenient driver and passenger access. The interior has seven available USB outlets, including rear-end USB outputs for other row wipers and mini pockets for digital devices of all kinds. A generous 16 cupcake means that there is always a place to study a drink in any sitting position. Seatbelt connection warning to the driver is active in all seats.

With regard to audio technology, the available premium sound system is well suited to Palisade's exclusive interior. The audio system has Clari-Fi and QuantumLogic ™ Surround Sound technology. Clari-Fi works in real time to rebuild audio details that are lost in digital compression music, while QuantumLogic ™ extracts signals from the original recording and redistributes them into an authentic multi-dimensional audio space for playback that's clear, refined and full of details. The result is a more robust and enjoyable audio experience on the way.

HEADS UP DISPLAY

With inspiration from aircraft technology, Palisade's available Heads-Up Display (HUD) designs a virtual image on the windshield, which helps the driver to better keep his eyes on the road. The feature uses a mirrored mirror combined with a full-color TFT LCD display and adjustable brightness to ensure both good daytime and night vision. Driving Information, such as Speed, Smart Cruise Control Status, Navigation, Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance Assist, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Speed Limits, Lane The following Assist and audio system data are projected with an ideal virtual distance for maximum readability.

Palisade also offers a sophisticated Intercom system for driver's conversation with car seat and sleep mode. This system allows the driver to communicate separately with other and / or third lines of the vehicle via the Palisade audio system in a call mode. The system also contains a sleep mode that allows the driver's line to listen to the selected sound without transferring the same sound to audio and speakers on the second and third rows, so that potential sleeping passengers will not be disturbed.

Palisade design seeks a very high perception of openness and exceptional visibility with a large, fixed-glass tailgate opening, wide rear seat frame and a generously reconfigurable boot compartment. All rear access areas have been ergonomically designed to provide easy access to the family, with an available power back-folding, unfolding and reset of third row setback. SUSPENSION METHOD AND TUNING

Front and rear width is maximized on Palisade for improved rolling stability and stability. Tires are a generous 245 / 60R18 standard or a 245 / 50R20 optional size for stability, style and smooth ride comfort. Palisade front wheels and rear supports are made of aluminum, while the front arms have been optimized and relieved by a new construction, resulting in reduced unknown weight and improved response.

Palisade also achieves top quality in torsion rigidity through a variety of methods, including a more annular structure and hot stamped die parts that provide greater strength and rigidity. In addition, torsional rigidity, when fitted with sunroof, is almost identical to versions without sunroof.

HTRAC® WITH SNOW MODE

Palisade offers Hyundai's HTRAC® All Wheel Drive (AWD) system. The HTRAC AWD system was developed as a multi-mode system, providing an electronic torque switch with variable torque with active torque control between front and rear axles. The driver-selectable HTRAC Normal, Sport and Smart modes ensure safe control in all weather conditions. The sport setting gives a more smooth feeling by sending more available torque to the rear wheels, for a sporty dynamic feeling when desired. This system has a wider range of torque distribution variability than many competitive systems, and has been tuned to conditions such as throttle acceleration, medium or high speed turn and backstart.

Palisade also offers a newly developed snow mode On its advanced HTRAC® AWD system, with special drag adjustment for snow, drag and drop optimization under adverse conditions. The drive mode snow mode adjusts front and rear torque distribution, left and right wheel control, engine torque and shift pattern according to available pulling levels. In addition, Palisada's AWD HTRAC system includes an AWD lock differential function for challenging draw situations.

SAFETY TECHNOLOGIES

Palisade offers a range of advanced security technologies, including Forward Collision-Avoid Assist with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Collision-Avoid Assist, Lane Following Assist, Rear Cruise Error Collision Avoid Assist, Safe Exit Assist , High Beam Assist, Driver Attention Warning and Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go. Hyundai & # 39 ; s standard rear cross-traffic collision-avoids assistance (RCC A) enhances driver awareness on the back of Palisade. Using the Blind Spot Detection system's radar sensors when backing up, the system can not only warn the driver if vehicles approach the rear, as are the brakes automatically.

Available security features include ROA (Rear Occupant Alert). The system monitors the rear seats with an ultrasonic sensor that helps detect movements of children and pets. The system first reminds the driver of controlling the rear seats when leaving the vehicle with a message on the center instrument cluster display. If the system detects movement in the rear seats after the driver leaves the car and locks the doors, it will base the horn and send a Blue Link alert to the driver's smartphone via Hyundai's Blue Link-connected car system. The system is designed to prevent children and pets from being forgotten in the car, but it also helps if children accidentally lock in.

Palisade also has a standard Safe Exit Assist system. To enhance the safety of the Hyundai passengers, Safe Exit Assist radar detects cars approaching from behind and warning passengers who want to leave the car. If a passenger attempts to open the door when a car approaches from behind, a visual and acoustic warning on the middle cluster will alert the driver. In addition, if the driver attempts to disable the electronic security lock feature, Safe Exit Assist will override the driver and make sure that the back doors remain locked until the nearby vehicle has passed. When the road is ready, the driver can deactivate the electronic child safety lock and succeed in unlocking the passenger doors on the back.

In addition, Palisade has seven standard airbags: double front, double sided, driver's knee and over-scrolling side curtain airbags. Palisade uses a full sided large side curtain airbag that includes third seat cover for improved rear motion protection in case of collision. Tire pressure monitoring with individual position display, theft protection, three LATCH anchors in the second line and two LATCH anchors in the third row and a rear camera are also standard at Palisade.

Palisade has a very rigid structure with strategic use of Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS) in key braking and crash areas to provide increased tensile strength. The use of advanced high strength steel has several advantages: easier overall vehicle weight, greater driving power and rigidity without excessive cost for more exotic lightweight materials.

Palisade is expected to obtain TSP + from IIHS and a 5-star NHTSA rating. Robust undercarriage and side structures are designed to increase energy absorption and cabin penetration in a serious collision, especially in the small overlap test. Furthermore, the lower body uses more lanes to better spread potential crash energy in the event of collision.

BLUE LINK® CONNECTED CAR SYSTEM

Custom models from Palisade Blue Link include three years of free Blue Link services, with enhanced security, diagnostics, remote and voice management. Blue Link connects directly into the car with technologies like remote control with air conditioning, external door lock / unlocking, car finder, improved road help and recovery of stolen vehicles. Blue Link features can be accessed via backspace buttons, MyHyundai.com web portal, MyHyundai with Blue Link smartphone apps, Amazon® Alexa Blue Link skills, and the Blue Link Google Assistant app. Some features can also be controlled through Android Wear ™ and Apple Watch ™ smartwatch apps.
