If you received a virtual reality game headset this holiday season, congratulations! Whether you have the recently released Oculus Quest 2, one of the last few devices of the now defunct Oculus Rift S, or another headset like the PlayStation VR, there are plenty of video games to explore with your new headset. show. Here are ten games I personally like and think are worth your time and money.
We have rounded up favorite and most used games, apps and entertainment. Check out our app choices for iPhones, Android phones, Windows PCs, and M1
Yes, it is not Half-life 3. But the fact that Half-life: Alyx even existing is truly a blessing and is a great addition to Half life franchise. Set five years after the events in Half life 2, you control Alyx, which has the task of taking a superweapon belonging to a foreign empire.
Star Wars: Squadrons
When I was a little girl, I always wanted to try an X-Wing. I thought it was so cool to soar through the room and blow Tie Fighters out of the sky. So when EA announced it Star Wars: Squadrons wanted VR support, I knew I could finally fulfill my childhood dream.
It’s a very difficult game and you do not need a VR headset to play. But it is also a very rewarding game that completely immersed me when I attached to a virtual reality headset.
Real VR Fishing
Growing up on the east bank of Maryland, fishing was (and is) a very popular summer activity. There is something great about throwing your line with a cold drink in hand while you are on the water, and the challenge and patience it takes to roll in a fish. Now that it’s winter, I needed something to fill the void until the warmer season comes back, and Real VR Fishing does not disappoint.
Void Racer: Extreme
Void Racer: Extreme is a sci-fi racing game that gives me the same adrenaline rush that I get from games like Emptying or Sprint Vector and combines it with an aesthetic like the one seen in the film Tron. If you are looking for a fast-paced racing game and love sci-fi vibes, this game is for you.
Sure, no real PS5 games have been released yet, but PlayStation VR still has a solid library of PS4 titles that you can check out, including the Media Molecules 2020 game creation title Dreams. It’s not a video game in the traditional sense – it’s more about making games. Dreams strongly encourages players to embrace their creative side, and you will be amazed at the type of user-generated content you can create.
Rez Infinite is a techno-driven shooter with sublime and trippy graphics that is truly an amazing experience. It is released on virtually all virtual reality gaming headsets, making it very accessible to play.
Although Beat Saber was originally released in 2019, this is still one of the best VR games around, and it is one that every VR headset owner needs to experience. A rhythm game where you use lightsaber-like drumsticks to cut through musical beats? You can not beat it. The game has also expanded to a number of content packages, which include original songs and some licensed songs from bands such as Linkin Park and BTS.
VR Shoot Around
Among the many things I missed this year due to the pandemic is sports. Namely the opportunity to go to a basketball court and shoot some hoops. After a few questions around, I heard about a really decent VR simulation title called VR Shoot Around, and it did not disappoint. Oh, and did I mention that this game only costs $ 5?
Trover saves the universe
Like a few games on this list, Trover saves the universe was not released in 2020 (although it was released this year for Oculus Quest). Developed by Squanch Games, this game is one of the goofier titles available on VR headsets. And if you are a fan of Rick and Morty, you will definitely get a kick out of this game – in fact it was created by Justin Roiland, one of the co-creators of that series.
Pixel Rippet 1995
Like its predecessor, Pixel Rippet 1995 is a kind of love letter to the decade it is set on: the 90s. There is another sequel Pixel Ripped 1989 and will make anyone who grew up during the 16-bit or 32-bit era of gaming feel nostalgic.
