It is safe to say that Cyberpunk 2077 has not lived up to expectations, despite the fact that it is still a very fun game.
Many of the things promised in the game are missing, and CD Projekt Red spent most of December crawling to save its reputation.
January 2021 Patch
The next update for the game, the 1.07 update, comes in January 2021.
This will be followed by a major content update in February.
These two updates are said to “solve the most prominent issues” regarding the latest generation ports.
No official release date has been set for the update yet, only that it will come in January.
With CD Projekt Red in damage control mode right now, it will make sense for the update to appear sooner rather than later.
So it is likely that the update will come within the next week or two.
Update 1.07 has no formal update notes yet, but we expect it to be much larger than the previous update, update 1.06.
Update 1.06 was a major update that resolved so many issues.
- Dum Dum will no longer disappear from the Totentanz entrance during Second conflict.
- Improved memory management and stability, resulting in fewer crashes.
- Removed 8 MB save file size limit. Note: This does not fix saved files that were corrupted before the update.
The 1.06 update was 18 GB in size, about 1/3 of the total game size.
1.07 is expected to be even bigger as it addresses the majority of the early issues the game has.
It is confirmed that the Cyberpunk 2077 DLC will come early in 2021.
There is no official word on what DLC will be, but CDPR promised many pieces of free content in addition to later paid DLC.
